About · The studio

Two artists.
One obsession for images.

A studio space for visual experiments, Blender-driven workflows, and tools shaped by real production needs.

The studio

Complementary approaches,
one shared obsession.

Depth Optica is the meeting point of two artists who fell into 3D a few years ago and never really came back out. We approach the medium from different directions but meet in the same place: strong images, controlled atmosphere, and practical ways of making them happen.

One side leans toward modeling precision and visual observation; the other toward scene direction, lighting, and cinematic intent. The studio is where those two impulses sharpen each other.

Nicolas Roussel portrait

Nicolas Roussel

3D artist specialized in modeling

Formerly trained in technical drawing and graphic execution, Nicolas brings structure, patience and exactness to the studio. His background keeps him close to form, proportion and detail — qualities that also feed his eye as a photographer.

Johan Girard portrait

Johan Girard

3D director, live-action director, editor & motion designer

Johan approaches 3D like a filmmaker: through scene design, shot logic, lighting and look development. Whether on a set or inside a viewport, the goal stays the same — build images that feel intentional, readable and alive.

Where it all goes

Visual curiosity, production thinking,
and a few useful inventions.

Whether you have a project to discuss or just want to follow what comes out of the lab, the door is open.
